‘Fifty Shades Darker’ is speculated to contain lesbian scenes between Dakota Johnson’s Anna and Rita Ora’s Mia Grey. Meanwhile, Johnson recently broke up with long-time boyfriend Matthew Hitt. It was also speculated that Johnson’s involvement with the erotic cinematic series may have caused the split.

According to The Daily Mail, Johnson recently split from musician boyfriend Matthew Hitt after two years of dating. A source revealed, 'Dakota and Matthew have dated on-and-off for the past two years… They didn’t get a chance to see much of each other recently because their work schedules didn't align. She's been up in Vancouver shooting the Fifty Shades trilogy.”

It was speculated that the two ended their relationship due to Johnson’s involvement in the raunchy ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ cinematic series. Johnson was first spotted with Hitt in 2014 but split up in 2015, right around the same time ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ was released. The two reunited a few months after.

The 26-year old American actress rose to international fame for her role as the main protagonist Anastasia Steele in the sexy trilogy. She was spotted filming for the sequel in Vancouver together with co-stars Jamie Dornan and Rita Ora. Dornan plays leading man and titular character Christian Grey while Ora plays Mia Grey, Christian’s voluptuous younger sister.

According to an article on Movie News Guide, Johnson and Ora seemed to be hitting it off quite well off-screen as seen on various posts on social media. It was speculated that the two will be involved in a lesbian scene in the second film, which accounts to their good chemistry in real life.

These speculations may have emerged from Ora being previously linked to dating model Cara Delevingne and singer Ellie Goulding. However, these rumors prove baseless since no lesbian relationships have been featured in E.L. James’ original books.

The first film in the series introduced the steamy BDSM-filled relationship between Anna and Christian. It was heavily panned by critics immediately upon its release in February 2015. However, it went on to achieve mainstream and financial success after earning a total of $571 million worldwide against a $40 million budget, as reported on Box Office Mojo.

‘Fifty Shades Darker’ is directed by James Foley and produced by Universal Pictures. Dana Brunetti, Michael De Luca, Marcus Viscidi, and author E.L. James serve as producers. It is scheduled to be released on February 10, 2017.
